3 Things You Could Learn from My Little Sister

“Sister. She is your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities. She is your witness, who sees you at your worst and best, and loves you anyway. She is your partner in crime, your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark. She is your teacher, your defense attorney, your personal press agent, even your shrink."

1. Perseverance is key- My sister has always been very strong-willed. She came out the womb a fighter. She became a teen mother but it didn’t stop her from finishing high school, attending college, working or now currently pursuing on her dreams. She has sacrificed so much to take care of her children and to provide them with a comfortable life. She pushes and executes even when the circumstances don’t seem to be in her favor. She remains level headed and works through whatever comes her way! Whatever you maybe going through push through and know that perseverance lives within in you!You haven’t come this far to quit now!

2. Honesty is the best policy- Honest to a fault but you know what you get. She has never bit her tongue but somehow she remains respectful. She speaks with passion and a honesty that is refreshing in a world where social media runs most of our moral codes. Honesty is the best policy. It is a tried and true statement that has shown why it’s correct over and over again. Not only being honest with others but with your self is gratifying. Try it and see!!

3. Work hard, your harvest is coming- My sister hits the ground running everyday! Toting kids to school, after school activites and church. She rarely misses work and on a few occasions, her children have accompanied her to work. She is diligent, detailed oriented and proficient in her work. She has been recognized and received raises from her employer because of her work ethic. Everyday that I'm blessed to be here, I think about all that she does for her children and for herself. It keeps me motivated, inspired and encouraged. Keep putting in the work, researching and perfecting your craft/career. The seeds are planted, the harvest will come. You will get the recognition and the benefits/blessings that come along with it!

Im so grateful to share a special bond with my little sister Charnae. We may disagree and argue at times but we will always forgive! We know that there is nothing or anyone that can keep us from each other. We will laugh and love as long as the world keeps spinning. I will always be the bossy big sister but I will keep in mind, I don't know everything and be open to the lessons that my sister is willing to share. My sister is pretty dope, I hope yours is too! Charnae, I love you! Happy National Sister Day, ladies.

Remember if you have a sister or someone you admire as such, let them know how you feel, share the love!
